Nick Ellis 'Lovers In July'
Client: Nick Ellis
Working closely with our client Nick Ellis, we collaborated on this short film to accompany the download release of Nick's new single 'Lovers In July'. Drawing influences from British folk horror films and TV films of the seventies, especially the original BBC black and white version of 'Whistle and I'll Come to You', we came up with the concept of NIck being chased by himself throughout the song, with different versions of himself representing his past, present and future. Shot in various locations around Merseyside we wanted the film to have the pastoral, surreal and ominous feel of one of our favourite films, 'The Wicker Man', while the editing process was based very much on the rhythm and feel of the song itself.
